I DARE YOU

Simply Said:  "The Bible is worth all the other books which have ever been printed."  Patrick Henry

"Unless we form the habit of going to the Bible in bright moments as well as in trouble, we cannot fully respond to its consolations because we lack equilibrium between light and darkness."   Helen Keller

Anyone that says the Bible is an old, outdated book has
never taken the time to OPEN IT!!

Many of us may have a copy of a book called The Holy Bible somewhere on our bookshelves. It took 1,500 years to complete and 40 different authors...whether it is read cover to cover or not...(I use it as a "reference" book..an old "friend" that has many things to teach  me) in a sometimes "nasty' world!  It is a "song" book(Psalms), a book of Common Sense Wisdom(Proverbs)a "Survivor/Coping Textbook (Job); Human Behavior Study ("good, bad, and the Ugly") of Mankind and even a Love story (Songs of Solomon). "Songs" is the shortest book of only 117 verses in the Old Testament.
written around 900 BC.Pope John Paul II referred to it as a good study of true/lasting  love in marriage when agape(friendship) mixes with " divine fiery "Eros" between a man and a woman.Excellent marriage advice.

It could have been written in ANY era with just a change of clothes, hairstyles, with or without beards (ladies, too)
The simple reason is that human behavior; fears and problems have remained pretty much the same over time. Once you get over petty "man-made" disputes about terminology,  symbolism and conspiracy theories, you have an excellent Guidebook!!

You don't have to be a college graduate to understand it....
in fact, sometimes the more degrees you have the more bogged down you can become in superficial semantics.

I am a woman of Science AND Spirituality and find very little conflict with that. Science simply explains how equisite and magnificent His work is! Science says we seem to even be pre-programmed in our brain circuitry to allow us to seek spiritual
truth. If we tried to wipe it all out, as Atheists wish, we would just continue to seek Him all over again. I truly believe this.

Part of our human behavior is that we like to check out everyone we meet or situation we are in as if WE WROTE THE
BOOK! Stop judging others and work on your own problems and don't tell me you don't have any or you are a Narcissist and need to get over yourself!! Besides, usually the things we get upset about in others is because we might have a problem in that, too!

Flowers don't flourish and bloom in an acid environment so clean up YOUR act first before you try to plant seeds of wisdom to others.   Mrs B.
p.s. By the way, right now I am working on a few more of mine!
                                         (THE "CROSS" TREE)

Albert Einstein Dec.4, 1926.
written to a Physicist/Mathematician Max Born.

" Quantum Mechanics is very worthy of regard. But an inner voice tells me that this is not yet the right track. The Theory yields much, but it hardly brings us closer to the "Old One's" secrets. I, in any case, am convinced that GOD DOES NOT PLAY DICE."
One of the greatest minds of all time was NOT an Atheist.
He was a self acknowledged Agnostic whose beliefs hinged on the awesome laws of the Universe which he believed came from a superior spirit. Raised Catholic, fascinated by Judaism
he considered himself a deeply religious man according to the pure knowledge of the existence of something we cannot penetrate, our perceptions of the profoundest reason and the most radiant beauty, which to our human minds we could only fathom part of it in a primitive form. In this, I also agree that "my God is too big for any ONE religion."

If we were to "know it all" we would alter our behavior in ways that would not be conducive to true learning. The Earth is the perfect school room to learn the good, the bad, and the ugly!
