FIRST of all: Until Toxicology reports come back....we do NOT have the facts!
An Addict is TWO different people and the comments of the last few days make it
glaringly clear. Whitney Huston was two different people. Michael Jackson was two
different people! My son was two different people. We need the wisdom to realize that
drugs take you HOSTAGE while you are using. Whitney had an incredible voice, Michael
had an incredible talent, also. Both were loved by their families and had that love and
those future years STOLEN from them with drugs. Cocaine, especially, is absorbed by
the human brain REPLACING vital brain chemicals...literally TAKING THEIR PLACE IN
THE BRAIN UNTIL ALL YOU ARE DRIVEN BY IS THAT CHEMICAL.
I have never used illegal drugs; or legal ones like alcohol & Nicotine.By the way,
folks, Nicotine in regular cigarettes is stronger than Heroin to overcome and Pot
has TWICE the amount of Tar to coat your lungs....I might never have learned not to judge addiction if it hadn't hit so close to home and my heart.
While a person is using they change drastically from the person you knew; at
first you are still in denial that you have "lost" that loved one. The User will
lie, cheat, manipulate and do whatever it takes to continue because the person
you knew and loved is NOT "driving the brain" anymore.....The part of the brain
for Family pleasure; friends; values and Honesty.
I was told once that the worst pain a parent could possibly have is to lose their
child....when you experience Losing a child while they are still alive .... fear is added to grief....you enable...you will do almost anything to get him back.
The BIG difference between
Celebrity Users and the average person, I told my students is that the Celebrity
IF they don't go too far and end it can make ONE Movie/Concert and pay the
damages; or spend time in a resort rehab facility...the average person LOSES
EVERYTHING and takes years to rectify financial, emotional & spiritual damage.
I thank God everyday that we have our beloved son back to us
